EXPERIENCE

William Howard Wittausch, A.I.A.E., A.S.C.E., is a California licensed Architect and Civil Engineer located in Santa Barbara. Since 1978, his architectural practice has included the full spectrum of building types and size of projects including custom homes, multi-family housing, corporate headquarters, industrial and health care facilities. Professional services range from architectural design and the preparation of contract documents to permitting, bidding assistance, and construction contract administration. The firm’s civil and structural engineering work include buildings, roads, bridges, retaining walls, and site grading, utilities and drainage. Howard is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, an Emeritus Member of the American Institute of Architects, and served as an ad hoc member of the Santa Barbara City Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals.

QUALITY CONTROL IN PRACTICE

Howard’s firm has carried professional liability insurance for over 35 years and, to date, no claims have been filed. This is due to the principal’s personal involvement in the preparation of construction documents and to the requirement by the insurer that a representative of the firm observe and document construction. Hall & Company has been the sole provider of the firm’s Errors and Omissions Insurance since 1985. The firms ‘standard of care’ is its own insurance but its track record is evidence and proof of effective risk management.
